Ai-kon 2013~!

Um, hello there. I don’t know how to start or end things. >8D;; But I am here to talk about last weekend, aka Ai-kon~!

For the first time, I actually had a table there! I’ve been going with my family for a few years, and my sister’s had a table for a couple years, but I’ve never sold anything myself. This is actually the first time I’ve sold my art period, if you don’t include a small local thing that wasn’t centered on art, much less anime… our awesome, wonderful cousin came with us this year too! He was such an amazing help. Like seriously. THANK YOU, JONATHAN!

Moving on. Yes. Art table. I had one. And it was lots of fun. >3< It was just a half table, but it was right beside Sloan's, so yeah. OH AND SPEAKING OF SLOANY she won the mascot contest for this year! With this! Though if you’re following my stuff you probably know that alreadyyyy… can you tell I’m babbling? I’m wearing the shirt with her artwork on it right now, it’s so awesome! <333 ...my topics really do go all over the place. But having an art table was really fun, and I definitely want to do it again. I met lots of nice people (Like the girl who cosplayed as Emmy from "Professor Layton" that nobody seemed the recognize, the one guy who was so shocked I haven't played any classic "Legend of Zelda" games, all the people who came over more than once, the person who came back after their "Legend of Zelda" buttons were stolen, everyone who asked for pictures of me...) and saw old friends, too! Even asking people "so what can I tempt you with" was fun. Even noticing that they're holding something from a fandom and pointing to my stuff from said fandom was fun. Sammy kept calling me a devious little salesperson. u3u MAYBE MY FUTURE LIES IN SELLING THINGS LOL.

Mmmmm, what else to talk abouttt… I didn’t get out of the Marketplace much, unfortunately, but I did manage to sneak away on Sunday to see a little of the “Project Diva F” tournament! Didn’t enter because the only skills I have are from the demo, but I wanted to see how they were doing it, and I got a sneak peek at the notes for a few songs. I also recognized some people (…aka cosplays…) from the Marketplace, so that was cool. C: I only saw “Cat Food”, “Dye”, “Time Machine” and “Acute” before I went back. Hmmm… what awesome cosplays did I see… there was a Flandre Scarlet (“Touhou”) with amazing wings and a Miku Hatsune (“Vocaloid”) with a interesting wig.

There was also a “Daughter of Evil” Rin (“Vocaloid”)!! She looked so amazing, her dress and wig was perfect! She didn’t look at my table so I was kinda like “WAAAAAAAAAAAAITTTT UH UH COULD YOU HOLD ON A SECOND PLEASE Mom camera camera camera!!” =3=;; I even gasped loudly (though the room was generally loud so no-one heard) when I saw her. And on Sunday, it was a repeat of that when I saw Konoha and Ayano cosplayers (“Kagerou Project”). But they didn’t even walk down my lane so I had to actually run after them. And surprise them. But come on THEY WERE THE ONLY “KAGEROU PROJECT” COSPLAYERS I SAAAAAWWWW and nobody went like “ooh it’s Ene” at my print eitherrrrr… and the two of them were so awesome too <3 It was my duty I tell you. So we didn't take many pictures, but Sloan will be posting them on her blog and in the forum in a bit. Or if you think we got a picture of you, you can send a note to me, her or send Sloan an email~!

And another really awesome thing!! I managed to find the first season of “K-ON”. At a decent price. SO MUCH YAY. Due to companies closing down and that sort of thing, it’s fairly easy to get a hold of the second season of “K-ON”, but there’s only so many copies of the first season left in the world now. I’ve been looking for it (not very actively) for pretty much a year now so yeah! We watched the first two episodes already. It’s cute. I love the expressions. And the ending is so awesome. :’DD The ending video even seems like it’s trying to be a normal music video! SO COOL.
And YET ANOTHER THING. I guess it would be on… Friday? Saturday? But anyway, my mom was taking a look around the marketplace, and at the back wall there was a vendor selling toys. And there was a Rin Kagamine plushie. Not one of the official ones I’m used to seeing but Rin nontheless. Knowing how much I love Rin, she mentioned to the vendor guy about how she had to tell her daughter about this. Right after that, I went to go pick one up. All I had to say was “my mom in the green hair sent me” and he was reaching for Rinny. |DD Mom was wearing her “Matryoshka” Gumi cosplay so yeah. And I even got the last Rin! I feel so luckyyyyyy!!

Um um ummm… I think that pretty much sums up our weekend! I had an art table, I had fun, I met awesome people, I saw awesome cosplayers, and I bought awesome things I’ve been wanting. LE WOOT. So now we’re just relaxing and playing games and being eaten by mosquitos.
So to end this lovely little long post, here’s a huge shout out to everyone who dropped by either my or my sister’s table, no matter if they bought something or not…

THANK YOU!!
